"I highly recommend Dave for any A/C problems or just maintenance. My air stopped blowing cold in the middle of last night. I messaged him first thing this morning and he responded right away. Said he had a busy day but he would make time today to come find out what was wrong. As promised he came and was able to get the air blowing cold again! He is friendly, honest, hard working and fairly priced. I always know who to call if I have any issues!"

Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I change the air filter in my A/C unit in Florida?
In Florida’s warm and humid climate, it is recommended to check the air filter every 30 days in the summer, every 90 days in the winter and replace as needed. However, the frequency of the filter change will vary with the type of filter in the home.
Disposable filters: we recommend changing them every month.
Washable filters: we recommend washing them every month.
1” Pleated or poly filters: we recommend changing them every 3 months.
4”-5” Media filters can last a little longer and should be checked every 6-12 months and changed as needed.
What A/C maintenance can I perform myself?
One of the most important maintenance tasks a homeowner can do is replace the air filter(s).
Do I really need HVAC maintenance?
Absolutely! Maintaining the drain line, especially in Florida, is very important. Also, annual maintenance of your air conditioner system improves your indoor air quality, system performance and longevity, and home comfort. Annual maintenance also helps identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
We recommend having a maintenance completed twice a year but at minimum once a year is needed.
What should I set my thermostat to?
In Florida, in the summer, FPL recommends setting it at 78 degrees. However, the reason we have air-conditioned homes is so we can be comfortable. Finding the right balance between comfort and energy efficiency will help determine what temperature setting is best for you.
What should I set my dehumidistat to?
If the home is occupied, adjust the dehumidistat to the “on position”. This allows the thermostat to be the main device controlling the temperature in the home.
If the home is unoccupied, adjust the dehumidistat to 55%, and the thermostat to 80 degrees.
Ideally, your humidity levels should be maintained at 45-55% in a Florida home. This is the range when bacteria and viruses don’t live long, and it minimizes mildew and microbial growth.
When should I repair my air conditioner as opposed to replacing it?
- If your system is still under warranty.
- If the repairs needed are less than 50% than the cost of a replacement.
- The system has been trouble-free thus far and looks to be mechanically sound still.
When should I replace my air conditioner?
- If the equipment is older or out of warranty, be careful not to throw good money away with constant repairs.
- If the system is older than 12 years, major improvements in efficiency could save you BIG money. Superefficient, modern equipment can save $1,000 or more per year.
- If you are not comfortable with the way the current system is keeping up to desired temperature.
- If you are concerned about breakdowns. When an old system fails under the intense summer heat, a replacement air conditioner can easily be a week to 10 days away.
